Back to School, Back to Bedrooms

Personality in Patterns
At Ovadia Design Group, one principle guides every project: design should be functional and smart, so it evolves with you rather than starting over every few years. Childhood is full of change — new schools, shifting favorites, toys giving way to trends — and a room should adapt just as gracefully. Bring in character through bold wallpapers, accent colors, or playful textiles that layer personality with sophistication. Involving kids in choices, even something as simple as a key color, empowers them to feel a sense of ownership over their space.
"We believe in creating rooms that adapt, making the most of every stage while still celebrating each child’s individuality." - Jack Ovadia

Study Nooks with Style
Homework deserves more than a corner; it needs a space that feels equal parts functional and comfortable. Think built-in desks and streamlined workstations for structure, then layer in a sculptural lamp or textured finish to give the moment weight. Add a swivel chair with curves, and suddenly the everyday desk feels like design. For this teen boy’s room, we kept it tailored with a palette that stays grounded.

A Cocoon for After Hours
A lounge doesn’t need to be sprawling to make an impact. For an 18-year-old boy in the attic, this compact alcove became a retreat, anchored by a sculptural leather sofa and a low coffee table that invites downtime. The architecture does the heavy lifting, with sloped ceilings and a framed window shaping a cocoon-like atmosphere, while layered textures keep it warm and grounded. It’s a space that shifts with ease, from homework to reading to simply hanging out, all within arm’s reach of comfort.

Call it Cloud Mode
The art of making a kids’ room feel as soft as it looks. We love starting with the walls: a framed wallpaper or painted trim sets the stage, giving the room structure without taking away its whimsy. From there, it’s all about layering comfort — a plush rug under bare feet, a cozy chair tucked into the desk, bedding that invites an afternoon nap, and upholstered details that make every corner feel like a soft landing. It’s design that feels dreamy now, but grows gracefully as the years unfold.
Back-to-school isn’t just about new schedules. It’s about creating environments that help kids thrive. A bedroom styled with intention becomes more than a backdrop. It becomes a place of growth, creativity, and comfort.
At Ovadia Design Group, we view design as a process of layering: structure, personality, and softness, so that every stage of childhood feels supported. Call it cloud mode, call it thoughtful design, but most of all, call it a home that grows as gracefully as the people who live in it.
